The Dream The Breakdown NO —
ACTION!

Two struggling actresses navigate the absurd world of micro-budget filmmaking, social media survival, and mental mayhem aboard a cruise ship “set.”

They discover that chasing dreams in Hollywood means drowning in bad scripts and identity implosions — all caught on camera.

SC.05 · The meta-narrative

A film about making a film badly.

Synopsis

Reese is a mother clinging to acting as her last lifeline to identity — while her marriage frays and her adopted daughter struggles. Agata is a Polish actress living on borrowed time and a tourist visa, hustling every angle from influencer gigs to $20 roles.

When Lala, an overzealous indie filmmaker with delusions of grandeur, invites them aboard a cruise ship to make “art”, both say yes. What she delivers is a series of bizarre, low-budget melodramas — cringe-worthy scripts, questionable direction, iPhones and a crooked green screen.

Between forced fun on deck and breakdowns off camera, the shoot becomes a spiral into humiliated vulnerability — and a mirror to the loneliness of social media and the hustle culture of Hollywood.
